C.1 DRD identificationC.1.1 Requirement identification and source documentThis DRD is called from ECSS-Q-ST-30, requirement 4.3a.C.1.2 Purpose and objectiveThe purpose of the dependability plan is to provide information on theorganisational aspects and the technical approach to the execution of thedependability programme and to describe how the relevant disciplines andactivities are coordinated and integrated to fully comply with the requirements.A consistent approach to the management of dependability processes isadopted to ensure a timely and cost effective programme.This plan identifies and ties together all the tasks including planning,predictions, analyses, demonstrations and defines the methods and thetechniques to accomplish the dependability requirements.This plan identifies the prime responsible for the dependability programme. Italso includes details of the applicable phases, products and associatedhardware or software relevant to the programme, and describes howdependability is managed throughout the project phases.

C.2 Expected responseC.2.1 Scope and contenta. The dependability plan shall include as a minimum:1. list of the applicable and reference documents,2. applicable dependability requirements,3. description of the dependability organisation and management,4. contractor / supplier management,5. details of the dependability tasks for each phase,6. dependability activities status reporting.D.1 DRD identificationD.1.1 Requirement identification and source documentThis DRD is called from ECSS-Q-ST-30, requirement 6.4.2.4a.D.1.2 Purpose and objectiveThe purpose of the contingency analysis is to analyse all contingencies arisingfrom failures of the system and to identify:• the failures, their causes, and how to control the effect and how recoveryof the mission integrity can be achieved• the methods of recovery of the nominal or degraded functionalities, withrespect to project dependability policy (availability targets for example).The contingency analysis is typically a system level task.
