AL-78-04-1 -- Insurance and Air-Conditioning Equipment
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the relationship between the insurance engineer and the commercial consumer, namely the insured client. It will cover the services that the insurance industry offers to the commercial consumer in terms of the coverages and engineering services. This includes discussion of the product we offer you, how the cost for this product is determined, what the insurance industry requires from clients other than just premiums, and what the client can expect from the industry, other than more payments for losses. The role of the insurance engineer is an integral part of the latter. Finally, I will end with the questions most frequently asked about Boiler and Machinery Insurance, the field in which I am currently involved.Citation: ASHRAE Transactions, Volume 84, Part 2, Albuquerque, NM
