Technologies are available to enable air-conditioning systems to be matched more closely to the unique needs of different climate regions for the purpose of increased comfort as well as for increased energy savings. For example, an AC system for hot, dry conditions can take advantage of the reduced need for dehumidification and improve energy efficiency; an AC system for hot, humid conditions that decouples the dehumidification operation from the cooling operation can increase comfort without overcooling. AC systems tailored to hot climate needs can be engineered from available equipment and components.
