The Guidebook aims to provide engineers with a comprehensive and easy-to-understand publication on Computational Fluid Dynamics. The initiative originated from the REHVA Technical Committee.

The Guidebook is written for people who have to use and evaluate predictions based ona CFD program and it gives a quick insight into the subject for people who are not used to working with CFD. A large number of CFD predictions are made nowadays and it is often difficult to judge the quality level of the predictions. The Guidebook introduces rules for good predictions work, explains the principles behind the numerical method, and discusses the special subjects behind ventilation. It is the hope that it will improve the technical level of the CFD work.

This guidebook describes a computer based model which can predict air movement, temperature and contaminant distribtution, as well as many other parameters of room air distribution. The aim of the book is to familiarise the reader with some of the fundamental principles and abbreviations, which are required for CFD applications to indoor environmental technology Some basie knowledge of CFD is given, which makes it possible to discuss details of commerical programs, to read papers on CFD and to discuss the use of CFD in the design process.
