TO-2699 (RP-260) -- Effect of Radiant Cooling Panels on Temperature Stratification
Air conditioning in industrial plants is not a luxury; it is essential. One is entitled to a working environment reasonably close to that of ones home, and this requires air conditioning. Air conditioning also reduces energy consumption.A study by J.B. Olivieri and his associates of 14 industrial plants ranging in size from500,000 ft (46,450 m) to 2,000,000 ft (185,800 m) showed that air conditioning had a lower first cost and used less energy than a ventilation system. The objective of this research project is to study the effects that radiant cooling panels have on temperature stratification and to compare the effects with those achieved with a combined supply-return outlet.
