LA-2585 (RP-167) -- Two-Phase Flow in Horizontal Condensate Return Lines of Steam Thermal Systems
When analyzing two-phase flow one may encounter four possible flow mechanisms (1): viscous-turbulent, turbulent-viscous, viscous-viscous, and turbulent-turbulent. Each mechanism is defined by the type of flow in the liquid and the gas phases, respectively. Flow in either phase with Reynolds numbers greater than 2,000 is considered turbulent.Citation: ASHRAE Transactions, Volume 86, Part 1, Los Angeles, California
