LA-80-01-3 -- Capacity Control for Partial Load Operation of Screw Compressor Units

This paper describes the capacity control system of the screw compressor with particular emphasis on the part load operational characteristics under various conditions. Electronic equipment has been specifically developed to best utilize the partial load characteristics. The characteristics of a liquid chilling system which incorporates electronic capacity control and an electronically controlled expansion valve in conjunction with a screw compressor are explained.
