AT-78-06-2 (RP-121) -- Measurement of the Specific Heat of Building Materials

Measurement of the heat capacity of eighty-one commonly used building materials and compoundshas been determined by an adiabatic calorimeter technique with accuracy of /-5%. Refinements oftechnique necessary for some of the materials examined, are discussed. The results are examined,with the intent to demonstrate similarities in heat capacity values for groups of materials. Atypical example of the possible use of specific heat information is also included.
