CI-81-03-2 -- Calculating Building Heating Loads Using the Frequency Response of Multilayered Slabs
This paper describes a method for calculating room heating and cooling loads using frequency response methods to calculate heat flow through multilayered room walls and roofs. The proposed method retains important dynamic characteristics of building heat transfer but is much simpler than response factor/heat balance methods. The method appears to be simple enough to allow it to be implemented on a microcomputer as part of a microprocessor-based energy analysis program. Results of the proposed method are compared to more detailed hourly load calculation procedures.Citation: ASHRAE Transactions, Volume 87, Part 2, Cincinnati, Ohio
