ASHRAE Technology Award: Deere: Running Efficient
The 1960s-era John Deere Headquarters is a one of the most famed headquarters building in the world. During a renovation of this steel and glass building, careful analysis was done to determine predicted energy savings of the new systems, including a dual-duct, dual fan approach to the HVAC system. The analysis predicted 41% energy savings from the entire project, and the actual operations are close to achieving that goal. In addition, the ENERGY STAR score went up 38 points.
