Fungal contamination in HVAC systems is often a combination of design and operation problems. Porous materials such as internal fibrous glass liner (FGL) have been identified as a major source of fungal contamination. Unfortunately, antifungal treatments on FGL vary considerably in their ability to inhibit fungal growth.
