MSS SP-88-2010
The purpose of this Standard Practice is to outlinethe limitations and requirements of valves in whicha nonmetallic, resilient diaphragm is used toseparate the working parts of the valve from the linefluid and also functions in conjunction with otherparts as valve closure-member.
The use of a nonmetallic, resilient diaphragm causesvalves described in this Standard Practice to bedifferent from other commonly used valves forwhich genera1 and specific Standards and StandardPractices are in existence. These differences includepressure-temperature limitations, face-to-facedimension requirements, and specific servicecharacteristics.
This Standard Practice reflects industry practice inthe design, manufacture, and application of this typeof valve.
