Manufacturing engineering has been primarily associated with quality through teaching students and industry practitioners. It is now time to practice what we teach by integrating these models into department operations. This paper outlines the main characteristics of total Quality Management (TQM), Deming, Malcolm Baldrige and ISO 9000 and suggests that a personalized combination of these models be applied to the Manufacturing Education department.
