BS 09/30179103 DC
BS 09/30179103 DC is intended to be applied to safety-related systems that include one or more E/E systems and that are installed in series production passenger cars with a max gross weight up to 3,5 t. ISO 26262 does not address unique E/E systems in special purpose vehicles such as vehicles designed for drivers with disabilities.Systems developed prior to the publication date of ISO 26262 are exempted from the scope.
BS 09/30179103 DC addresses possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systemsincluding interaction of these systems. It does not address hazards as electric shock, fire, smoke, heat, radiation, toxicity, flammability, reactivity, corrosion, release of energy, and similar hazards unless directly caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems.
BS 09/30179103 DC does not address the nominal performance of E/E systems, even if dedicated functionalperformance standards exist for these systems (for example active and passive safety systems, brakesystems, ACC).
BS 09/30179103 DC specifies the requirements for product development at the software level forautomotive applications. This includes requirements for initiation of product development at the software level, specification of software safety requirements, software architectural design, software unit design andimplementation, software unit testing, software integration and testing, and verification of software safety requirements.
