This standard establishes requirementsfor the performance, design, qualificationtesting, markings and instructions, inspections,maintenance and storage, and removal from serviceof self-retracting devices (SRD?s) includingself-retracting lanyards (SRL?s), self-retracting lanyardswith integral rescue capability (SRL-R?s), andself-retracting lanyards with leading edge capability(SRL-LE?s). This standard establishes requirementsfor SRD?s intended for use in personal fall arrest orrescue systems for authorized persons within thecapacity range of 130 to 310 pounds (59 to 141kg).
