This standard describes the point-to-point physical interface portions of Fibre Channelhigh performance electrical and optical link variants that support the higher level Fiber Channel protocolsincluding FC-FS, HIPPI, IPI, SCSI and others. This standard is recommended for new implementationsbut does not obsolete the existing Fibre Channel standards.
