Full Description
This standard applies to an enamel suitable for use as a finish coat on the exterior and interior of ships and boats, and the exterior of deck machinery and equipment exposed in marine atmospheres and intermittently immersed in sea water.
The enamel may be applied over the following substrates:
a. aluminum primed with a primer conforming to CAN/CGSB-1.132;
b. suitably primed wood;
c. steel primed with a primer conforming to CGSB standard 1-GP-48, CAN/CGSB-1.212 or CAN/CGSB-1.213;
d. steel over a coating conforming to CAN/CGSB-1.183 or CAN/CGSB-1.184, providing a suitable tie-coat (between the coating and enamel) is used.
