Full Description

This method describes a procedure for the quantitative analysis of binary mixtures of acetate fibres with certain polyvinyl chloride fibres (whether after-chlorinated or not), by removal of the acetate component.

If the types of fibres present in the mixture are not known, they must be identified before quantitative analysis is undertaken (par. 11.1).

The accuracy of the results obtained with this method will be decreased by the presence of nonfibrous finishes that cannot be removed.

This method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this method has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any existing applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
