This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for spray-applied rigid polyurethane cellular plastics used as thermal insulation in building construction. The insulation is intended to be sprayed only into open cavities or onto surfaces at the construction site. After the application of the insulation, the cavities or surfaces can be enclosed.
The spray-applied rigid polyurethane cellular plastic thermal insulation should not be used when the continuous service temperature of the substrate is outside the range of -60 to +80C. The exposed surfaces must be suitably protected from water, fire, ultraviolet light, weather and mechanical damage.
