George Lucas Big Rock Ranch project required no rooftop equipment for the Frank Lloyd Wright prairie-style architecture, underground parking, no natural gas, a limited supply of well water, no sanitary sewer and the desire for a quiet, invisible and energyeffi cient system at this pristine location. Set in the rural, rolling hills of Marin County, north of San Francisco, a dam was built to create a lake next to which the buildings would nestle. A leach fi eld would be established in the ample surrounding grounds for sanitary waste disposal, and a hill created to hide the project from the road.
